President Maithripala Sirisena to visit Korea for three-day official visit

President Maithripala Sirisena leaves for Korea today (27) on a three-day official visit to strengthen diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and the Republic of Korea.

Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa who is on a state visit to Korea on June 30, is due to arrive in Sri Lanka on a state visit.

The visit will coincide with the 40th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Korea and the Republic of Korea. The President of Korea and Sri Lanka President Sirisena are due to meet for a discussion on the 29th of this month and later a Diplomat’s dinner for the President of Sri Lanka The Ministry said.

The Heads of State of both countries are to discuss matters of mutual interest to deepen cooperation between Sri Lanka and the Republic of Korea.

During the visit, several agreements on economic cooperation, economic development co-operation funds and cultural cooperation will be signed with the two governments, as well as several MoUs on Investment and Employment Licensing. President Maithripala Sirisena is to attend a lunch for a corporate lunch for four major Korean business associations and meet the Sri Lankan community in the country.
