Mobitel is organizing a dedicated Hackathon competition for healthcare for the first time in Sri Lanka. In order to offer state-of-the-art technology solutions to the local health sector, Mobitel has plans to hold a dedicated Hackathon competition called “MedHack”. It is organized by the National Mobile Service Provider, Ministry of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine and Sri Lanka Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA).

MedHack aims to find challenges in the health sector facing health and health professionals, technology specialists and problem settlers. A pioneer of digital healthcare and Sri Lanka’s largest medical consultancy, Mobitel is one of the leading national mobile service providers in the country, transforming e-Chanel and the world’s largest digital service provider into the channeling network.

In the first phase of the MedHack competition, anyone can access the website of the competition and use the technology to develop or solve problems they face in the health sector. These issues are reviewed by experts involved in the health field, and the contest will be published on the website.

With the issues announced, Hackathon registration will begin on August 25 through https://mic.lk/medhack/sin/, and the final date for registration will be September 14. The winners will be announced on September 18, and the Hackathon competition will be held on September 23 and September 24 at the Mobitel Innovation Center, Trace Expert City.
