England Cricket Team win Test series

England beat England by nine wickets in the third and final Test against West Indies at Lord’s. England were able to win the three match series 2-1.

West Indies were bowled out for 177 in their second innings on the third day of their innings. England were able to reach the target with one wicket. Tom West remained unbeaten on 44 and Marsh put on 40 runs for the loss of only two wickets in the first innings. West Indies could only score 84 runs for the third consecutive day. The 35-year-old James Anderson captured 7 wickets for 42 runs in his 129th Test match.

Kevin Pietersen was the pick of the West Indies in the first innings,

Anderson, who made 500 Test wickets, became the 6th and 3rd fast bowler in the Test and England’s first ever England Test captain. Stuart Broad has taken 388 wickets in 109 matches.

England’s Muttiah Muralitharan (800), Shane Vaughn (708), Anil Kumble (619), India’s Glenn McGrath (563) and Kurti Wals (519) from West Indies have retired from Test cricket.
