Sri Lanka India celebrates Independence Day

The Sri Lanka Indian Association celebrated the 70th anniversary of the Independence Day in Colombo recently. The event was graced by Minister Sarath Amunugama as the Chief Guest. India’s High Commissioner in Sri Lanka Toranjith Singh Sande and many other experts participated in this event.

The keynote speaker is India’s best business writer and 15,000 employees worldwide. The keynote speaker is Müntree’s entrepreneur, Mr. Subterotogh Baghi. Sarath Amunugama, Minister of Special Projects, highlighted the close links that Sri Lanka and India shared in shared historical heritage, the similarities between the national anthems and the longstanding political career of the two countries.

India’s High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Mr. Toranjt Singh Sanduk, said that 2017 India is very different from the previous decade. He said 50% of India’s population is below 25 years of age and it will help innovation, entrepreneurship and growth. He emphasized the close relations between the two countries in the recent history and the unique visits made by the respective leaders, as well as programs in the economic, political and humanitarian fields, when necessary.
