Japan’s defense minister resigns

Japanese Defense Minister Tomomi Inada has resigned.

She is a close friend of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

The main charge against her was attempting to hide the documents containing controversial matters for a peacekeeping operation.
This problem arose due to the fact that the Ministry of Defense had requested information from the South Sudan regarding the security situation.

According to foreign media reports, the Japanese Prime Minister intended to give her another ministerial portfolio in the cabinet reshuffle to be held next week.
