The inaugural ceremony of the INFOTEL 2017 National ICT Exhibition was held at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) on Friday (01) under the patronage of the Federation of Information Technology Industry and the Federation of IT Industry and the Federation of IT Industries.
The exhibition will be held in coordination with the Ministry of Telecommunication and Digital Equipment to mark the 25th anniversary of the INFOTEL exhibition.
The Ministry of Education is also a partner in this exhibition and the exhibition will be held at the Information and Communication Technology branch of the Ministry of Education at the exhibition and there will be a digital exhibition for digital education.
In parallel to the INFOTEL exhibition and the CXO Conference for Heads of Ministries and Institutions that contribute to this, the Prime Minister assumed duties at the Colombo Hilton at the inauguration of the exhibition.
The ITF career guidance programs and seminars for children in the INFOTEL which commenced today (02) will be held in Sinhala, Tamil and English media and around 3,500 school children have been called for this program. The exhibition is also open for free entry to students entering school uniforms.
Hon. Akila Wiraj Kariyawasam, Minister of Education, Hon. Harin Fernando, Minister of Telecommunication and Digital infrastructure also participated at these ceremonies.
