Sri Lanka's tourist arrivals rose 1,406,854 in the first eight months of 2013, according to a report released by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA). This is an increase of 3.5 percent compared to the number of arrivals to the country in the first eight months of this year, amounting to 1,359,906.
In August tourist arrivals totaled 190,928, up from 186,288 in August this year, up 2.5 percent.
During the first eight months of the year, the highest number of visitors came from India. That amount is 233,120. The list is China (190,992) and the United Kingdom (141,378).
